^^Exactly right, no speed for an element as speed-consuming as that.

^ummm elements don't have to be speed killing it just depends on how well they are supported and shaped.

Not REALLY true.

An element can be speed-consuming, no matter the supports, shape, anything. For example, a tight turn, even if it's completely stable and round, will not pass. I don't have speed for a rose bowl, but I DO have speed for a downwards helix.

Also, I just finished the second hill/thing after the hill after the turn. It looks fine, and is fine, but the train doesn't make it. Maybe it's the WD-40 (I've heard rumors that it actually makes the track worse) or maybe I just need to put on new tubing, but right now the tubing that I have on is too short anyways, so I'll change that in the next update.

Rawr, math midterm tomorrow :(! (meaning no update ;))

It doesn't make the hill because you have a small, under supported turn before it. The hill before the turn is also too small.

^The turn isn't unsupported, I don't think...

Lol, you're looking at the old turn, which I scrapped and replaced with a rising turn.

Ok. Here's the layout so far:

Lift, turning drop, hill, rising turn, bunny hill with turning pullout, half a bunny hill (which the train doesn't make it over: maybe it's just not lubed).

Hope that clears everything up.

Pics please......if the car's not making it over, then check your elements shape and size. You don't need to immediately resort to lube. If we could actually see the coaster then we could help.

We don't give a shit about layouts in text. The only way we can help you is with pictures.

Please make a post containing at least five words...

However, SFGAmGuitarist, you could use the edit button in your previous message for such a reply. Nowadays members like to see pictures way more than some words.

Anyway, your layout plan seems good to me, too bad the train doens't make it yet.
If you could show us some more pictures of your project we might be able to help this:)

And if there's really nothing we (including you too) can think of, and you want to keep the layout, a second lift hill is always an option I think.

My signature is expericing a temporay delay and has therefore seized operation.

Sorry for the DP, but I have a question: what are, in your opinion, the best brakes out there for K'nex? hint hint

Yeah, if you guessed that after the bunny hill I'm just going into the brakes, you're correct. They are currently chain-friction brakes. I need it to have just enough speed to be able to drop off the brake run and turn left into a station. Some pics, although unnecessary (I think)

looks like you have a LOT of speed. My suggestion is to raise the height of the elements a little. Just my suggestion, if other members tell you otherwise, do as they say...lol :)

edit: (id like to see a right downward helix into a station if you have room)

^Yay you got your username changed! :P

Anyways, yeah I was thinking about raising the elements, but it barely makes it over the last hill, so I think I'm going to leave it as it is.

I'm currently working on the turn out of the brakes to the ground, so that it is parallel with the lift, which will then go into the station, and after that, a turn out of the station (to the right) and into the lift. :)

It barely makes it over the last hill because it flies over the other ones!! You need to raise some elements and please use less cars...

Well, an MCBR shouldn't slow down THAT much, you need to start from the turning drop, and re-do EVERYTHING. You need to then...
1. Get the most height out of your elements
2. Make it as realistic as possible
3. Have a high MCBR, a low one like that, just, no.
