I wanted my coaster to preserve it's speed, so I look at the "Guide to preserving speed. It said to use WD-40, but I did not have that in my house.

Then I remembered that I lubricated my rubik's cube (Yes, I can solve those) with Vaseline....So I thought why go out and buy WD-40 and instead try using Vaseline?

It works wonderfully.

Good you didn't use Wd-40 it eats away plastic, so it is actually bad for your cars...
I thought of Vaseline...

I might try vaseline, because the silicone spray that I have doesn't work.

Edit: Do ^^you have VV or SS?

^^^^Your not the only one who can solve them. There are many on ssc that can.

Also I believe vaseline does eat away at plastic too. Also try lubricating your rubiks cubes with silicone.

Seems like Vaseline could eventually become very gunky after drying.

Also, you could use pledge.

Yeeeeeeaahhhhhh. Word to ya motha.

On topic, I use pledge, and it seems to work fine. Simple cooking oil is less efficient.

I use pledge. I have tried vaseline but you have to get just the right amount or it will either be to sticky or have little effect on the train.
