The last roller coaster I will build is called Doomsday Machine and will once again feature Speed o' Fear supports. This is just one of the many special features the ride will have.

The whole coaster will be placed on a base of two blue rods tall. A sturdy foundation like that combined with the tubular supports will give the coaster its strength and its looks. With a base like that, the coaster will also be easier to transport. That's an important requirement, because Doomsday Machine can be seen at an exposition next month and it needs to travel quite some miles to get there.

The most prominent feature of Doomsday Machine is its spiral lift. It represents the Doomsday Clock, although its ticking backwards. During the ascent of the lift you go away from apocalypse, which may make you feel safer. At the top you'll have a brief moment to enjoy the view, but then you will plunge down into apocalypse, into the Doomsday Machine...

Further elements are not known at the moment, but I can tell you that the first drop will be twisting around the lift.

The ride stands 3 ft. 7 inches tall, and the change in height is 2 ft. 6 inches. It is going to be a challenge to put in as many interesting elements as I can.

I'll start on the first drop now, since the spiral lift is up and working (with three-car trains).

Sucks most of the good builders around here are doing there last coaster now. Well I hope this is good. Sounds interesting. I'm wondring how you'll get alot of elements in with jsut a 2ft 6in drop. Can't wait!

Building those tubular supports is a pain in the a.... thumbs. I'm halfway down the drop and I have 4 columns now. I guess I'll take a picture tomorrow. (It's almost midnight here.)

Can you take a picture up close of the footers? I never could see the ones on SoF.

Too much Dimmu Borgir or Cradle of Filth I suppose. Either way, this sounds exciting, except too much like a Zamperla Volare(shudders) so far. Any idea on what you would like to add to the coaster? The concept sounds good though.

The name actually came from an Arch Enemy album. I wouldn't compare this with a Zamperla Volare, I'd rather choose Euromir or EuroSAT from Europapark. These two coasters also have a spiral lift and don't have an inverted track.

Anyway, I'm at 5 columns now and I have almost reached the bottom.

Are you ready for some pictures? Here are pictures of the spiral lift and the first drop. There will be one extra lateral support for the first drop. The smaller columns are solid as a rock and don't need lateral support. Next time you will also get some POV shots to show you its smoothness.

From these angles you can't really see, but it banks very early. Where's your straight part?
