Healthcare is a hot topic in the US, but so is in other countries.

There are many problems regarding healthcare, take a look at the following example:
A person that does not have sufficient healthcare or no healthcare at all got severely injured in a traffic incident. If he doesn't get help soon he will die. At the hospital they find out he is not ensured.

Every human has the right to live.

1. Are they allowed to let the person die, even though he can't pay the treatment?

2. If they do help him, who is going to pay the treatment?

1. No, that's completely unfair. The person in question may have just gotten his driver's license and might be driving to the place to buy his insurance. Or he might have been the victim of a hit-and-run collision. Those kinds of issues should definitely be treated no matter what.

2. The treatment would come from taxes...yeah, the same taxes all Republicans dogmatically object to.

I know I explained somewhere about what solutions there are to deal with the issue of how long people would have to wait.

1. Of course not. Federal law states you must be treated in the ER if you're having an emergency whether you can pay or not. And saying any significant number of people die from lack health insurance is ridiculous. Nobody is getting rejected at the ER.

2. Obviously this person needs to take some responsibility for not being able to pay or for not having health insurance. But if he is completely unable to pay, other people's money will have to pay for it through taxes.

I believe nationalized health care is bad idea, not because I don't want to pay for other people's health care, but because it simply won't work. A simple understanding of economics shows that it will only make the health care situation much worse. Not to mention it will increase debt by trillions of dollars, and throw the door wide open for more government control.

"There ain't no such thing as a free lunch". You can't have anything for free. Somebody has to pay for health care. If you don't pay for it, somebody else has to pay for it. And that's socialism. (socialism doesn't work btw, it kills productivity)

If something is free, there will be unlimited demand for it. But if people know something will cost them money, they will be much more hesitant to use it. So if health care is free, tons more people will go to the doctor when normally they would stay home. This will increase the workload on doctors. Doctors will not receive raises, they will only be told what to do by the government. They will be told where they will have to work, because you can't have too many doctors in one place - they need to be spread out. All this will result in doctors quitting. So demand for health care will sky rocket and there will far less doctors. Not good.

Now here's what I think what the solution to the health care problems are:

Get rid of government regulation on insurance companies. Government is the root of the health care problem. They tell insurance companies exactly what they have to cover, which of course means health insurance companies must raise prices. It would be like if they forced auto insurance companies to cover oil changes and tire changes. Auto insurance prices would sky rocket, because insurance companies would be paying for everybody's oil changes and tire changes. If you let health insurance companies sell insurance that only covers very expensive, low-risk injuries/illnesses, then prices would not be so high and more people could afford it.

To sum up: We need to look at health insurance differently; It should be called financial insurance, not health insurance. Health insurance should be for protecting you from financial ruin in the case of a very expensive injury/illness, not for paying for your annual check-ups.

1. Why would this be allowed? Even if they're an illegal immigrant, they don't deserve to die. They probably have a family to support.

2. I forget where I heard this, but the government could have like a national 20% sales tax, and have it be the only tax, so this way everyone pays their taxes on time, illegal immigrants pay taxes, and there is never any long tax day everyone loves so much.

^there are so many deductions and what not on tax forms that would make that not work.
