It's been a couple days since I've visited the site, but I went down with my camera because I received word that they've finished working on the top hat.
I think it looks better. What do you guys think?
They were able to remove all the little sharp spots in the crest, and did some light work on the pullout.
Here's a look at the "up" side
And here's a look at the "down" side
I was even able to find this coaster on Bing maps!
The highest point of the crest (still) stands at 4'-9"
That's all for today.
Please comment!

And no offense BBaller, but I think Stig has just gotten better than you in my book.

Lol, bing maps.

Thanks. But I owe a lot of credit to Bballer. Not just for his spine, but to him as a builder in general. It's why I started building big in the first place.
WOW, what an improvement in the tophat. Not only did they remove the sharp spot, but aesthetically with all the same colour (now that they painted those parts, lol), it looks amazing.
Hope the construction crew has a layout to match the beauty.
From what I've seen in the blueprints, this is going to be a very intense Blitz coaster.
Wow, so GWOH is actually gonna have competion next ATM?
Looks awesome Chris, I see you started to hate ladders too? Great!
If it's done by then, maybe.
Yes. I've only just discovered that ladders aren't as helpful as I thought. I blame them for the sharp spots.
awesome coaster dude
Thanks.
^^lol, hating ladders, they're useful for tubes . Anyways, this looks great Stig it's nice how you got it this realistic with VV.
I'm glad you think so. But something still bugs me about it. I think I can manage to bring the towers a little closer together. I think the top might be a little too wide.
This looks really good! The only thing I can say is that the blue tube in the third picture looks like it's creating a sharp spot. I don't know, it may just be an illusion.
Thanks.
It is. That last orange support is just temporary until the next element gets started.
So, last week was the start of crawfish season, so the whole construction crew along with the engineers had a fantastic lunch of boiled crawfish. It was delicious.
... Speaking of which... Some new track arrived today.
This time, the ladders are temporary
This looks like Intamin's more flexible, triangular spine track. Whatever is coming up next will probably be a twisty element.

Okay. Here's the deal with that:
I'm working, yes.
Moving? Yes, but not until May.
Let me explain: If I could have things my way, I'd move to Lafayette right now. But, my parents insist that I finish my associate's degree program. I've graduated college already, but the only thing keeping me from getting an Associate's Degree is one measly little Biology class. I hate Biology. This means that I'll have to attend my one Biology class every Monday night until it's finished in May. In the meantime, I'll be working at the office in Covington. So by the time May comes, I'll have an Associate's Degree and 2 months of saved money to buy myself (and my brother. He's moving in, too.) a place to live. On the plus side, I can still build. The bad news is, between my mom, step-dad, and myelf, no one can decide on where I can build this massive machine. I'm going to blame my slow progress on that
But you didn't open this thread to catch up on my personal matters anyway, did you? No! So here we go:
Looks really good to me.
And an awesome coaster from an awesome builder, I wish I had that many VV pieces.
Thanks. Actually, I'm starting to get low on small black rods and elbows.
yummy bugs!
sexy track!
Mud bugs rock.
And thanks.
Omg that track spine is quite cool! this is awsome (:
Thanks.
This is very nice!

Wait no more.
And welcome to SSC!
YAY NEW TRACK SPINE!! :lov
This is gonna be beast! You have definitely matched BBaller!
Thanks. It means a lot to me when I read the names Stig and Bballer in the same sentence. I'm honored to be anywhere near his skill.

Thanks I think
Aww... Is it a Dell?
All this week, during my time away, I was thinking about the progress of this coaster. Did they start the next element? Did they build the launch? Did they uncover the trains? So, when I left Lafayette Friday afternoon, I made a bee-line for the construction site. Unfortunately, I got caught up in some traffic in east Baton Rouge and didn't arrive until after the sun had gone down
The next day, I grabbed my camera and made the trip over to the site.
Driving up to the site, the first thing I noticed was the top hat.
It might be hard to tell. But, it is, in fact, a tiny bit slimmer. And this was done in such a way that it left the top hat just barely taller than it was before.
While I was gone, a significant amount of progress had been made to the launch.
And I was delighted to hear that I had arrived just in time to see the new cars on the track.
They're Silver! They're Silver! They're Silver! They're Silver! They're Silver!
And I lost a dollar :sd3
Apart from the new track spine from last week, there's an even newer track spine being used on the launch.
This is supposed to keep the launch track super straight.
I asked our "inside source" on the site if the launch was operational. He said: "Well... Yes, and no." He went on to explain that they had conducted a couple of dry test runs and Scrappy passed. However, with the addition of a full train, there's a few things that need fixing.
Sadly, we weren't able to get a test video just yet
But I did get a very nice picture
Whoooosh!
