Hey everyone, I'm back for another coaster! Ive always wanted to do a mega coaster after seeing previous models on the site and I wanted to take a break from building a coaster with inversions. This was built mostly during last summer but with school keeping me busy during the fall I completed the coaster around February this year, but I still wanted to do a construction thread to show off how coaster was built. I am still working on a name for this coaster but I will think of one very soon. In this update I built the station, the storage area with and an enclosed train storage area, which I think is the best one I have ever built. It was pretty tough building it with staggering the pieces in such a tight area. I've always wanted to do some sort of RMC like pre-lift so that's what came to mind, and I think it turned out well enough. To bad I cant get the tire drive to pull the train up to catch onto the lift, since the train is very heavy and the tire drive has to pull it up at an upwards angle. I tried adding sticky substances on the bottom of the trains for better friction when contacting the rubber bands, but that did not work well. I probably will not be doing tire drives before the lift hill anymore, only in brake run areas where the track is horizontal. The train is very close to catching onto the lift chain without the tire drive, but I do not want to adjust the gear on the entrance to the lift hill. Stay tuned for the next update in a few days and enjoy the pictures!

Progress updates for a coaster that's already complete will certainly be interesting. But hey, more content = more happiness for all of us XD

It's kind of like we're going back in time only one day at a time (or maybe 3-4 lol).

I agree with everyone else I've never really seen anyone post a thread for new construction on a coaster that's already complete, but I second the motion that we will have new stuff to look at .

Is that an actual working transfer track back there? Really nice start to your Layout.

Haha I was so caught up with building the ride I forgot to do them! I should have went back and did them before I continued building but oh well. I still wanted to do a construction thread for everyone to enjoy!

Thanks lol, I am sure you'll enjoy it!

Yeah it has a motor underneath the track! Its always a cool effect I like to add on coasters and more realism. They aren't to difficult to build as well once you get the hang of it and do not use to many pieces. You cant have one if you're gonna build a train storage area in my opinion!

I would but I want to give it a few days in between each update for everyone to view and comment on each update. I do not want to rush it to fast.

Yeah the more coasters being built on the site the better I say! Hope you enjoy the updates!

This will be an great coaster everyone can look forwards to don't worry! Yeah that is a working transfer track. I have built a few of them before and wanted to give it another try!

For this update will we be focusing on the drop for this coaster. I have always wanted to do a turning drop and getting inspiration from the one found on Expedition GeForce. Using this type of drop will not take up much space, and allow me to have extra room to build more elements for the coaster's layout. It was pretty difficult and took a few tries to get the shaping and angle of the drop just right, and while making the drop structure as sturdy as possible to not lose to much speed when the train passes down but I think it turned out very well and better than I hoped for. Hope you guys like the pictures and stay tuned for the next update later this week! Sorry about it being dark in some pics, the glare from the sun was hard to control and closing the blinds was the only thing I could do to get quality pics of the coaster. Thanks to Trevor for the helping with smoothing and tweaking the track for the drop as well!

Oh damn! That looks amazing!

Are we potentially looking at a bit more of a compact layout for such height?!

Haha yeah it is! Dint worry just keep adding pieces steadily to your collection and you'll have a lot in no time! I was collecting pieces for over a decade and probably got an SS or two each year.

Same here, you get way more elements out of the ride based on the compact space and it looks pretty cool as well!

For sure, I was debating on adding more banking at the bottom of the drop but then it could end up being a bad transition into the first element if not done right, and it was pretty smooth of how it was already so I just left it alone.

Yeah it will be more a compact layout, I wish I could make it more spread out but that would have to be outside if I built it!

Back for another update, after the turning drop I wanted to built an over bank that allows for the track to cross over each other and allows for the flow of the coaster to be better. I tired to make the over bank as symmetrical as possible and I think it tuned out pretty good! I always like for over banks to have a lot of banking at the top like seen on many of Intamin's creations. It was getting tricky building this huge element using gray rods and the track was getting tight at the top so I had to switch to flexi rods to keep the track smooth as possible and make it easier to shape. Tons of supports were used to keep the track very sturdy and for the trains to not lose to much speed, I think it was a gray rod and a half which I was very pleased. I also really like the support structure for this element as well, the final product looked awesome! Wasn't sure if the over bank was too steep or not based on some angles but I was satisfied for how the element was looking and I wanted to build the other half to complete it. Hope you enjoy the pictures and test video and leave a comment on what you think!

That is one of the best overbank turns I have ever seen. This ride looks absolutely sick so far. Possibly epic.

No complaints here! I think compact layouts can introduce so many interesting interactions between sections of track.

Still looks amazing!

Thank you! Hope you enjoy the rest of the layout for this coaster!

For sure, it took a lot of hard work to construct the over bank's structure and make sure the track was symmetrical with the both sides! Think you will like the next element as well!

Thanks for the feedback!

Oh yeah for sure, you will see it occur a couple times here. Gives some good head chopper moments for riders!

Back with another update, and for the next element I wanted to incorporate a stengal dive into the layout, while trying to fir the element into the layout so it would not hit the lift hill. I have never built a full scale stengal dive before and I thought this would be the perfect type of coaster to do it! It was pretty challenging building the structure and banking the track at the top of the element to the correct angle but with a few supports and reshaping the track I managed to get it with great speed loss from the trains! I really like the curvy downward part after the stengal dive as the track changed directions going into the next element! Flexi rods helped make this possible as using gray rods makes it very difficult to shape the track during quick transitions. Hope you enjoy the pictures and test video for this update as always!
