^^It looks great, although the gates aren't made to open exactly 90*, close 90* because it's done by a motor attached directly by gears. Am I right?
Anyways, maybe the gap is there for a path/stairs?

It just looks really sloppy IMO. With the gap in the roof, random rod colors, simi-decent gates, the platform is far away from the track. Though it is better then some other stations I've seen...

Because it's not that great, but not that bad either.
And that's how I think about it too.
I'd say go ahead with the coaster, and by the time you're done, redo the station.
My signature is expericing a temporay delay and has therefore seized operation.
